Question: #1: Bill pay???
I paid a bill from my Wells Fargo account for my Capital One credit card for the amt. of $85. It is still pending. I put it in earlier today. When can I expect it to clear and go through? Would it be faster to pay the C1 bill by going to my C! acct online and hooking up my Wells Fargo acct to it?

Question: #2: Mail the online bill pay check on paid in full account back to bank or to the customer?
At my work, we take payments from customers who use online bill pay with their banks. We receive a check from the bank. If the customer's account is already paid in full, one bank says to mail it back to them to recredit to the customer's bank account. I got one from a different bank and I called them to get their address and they said no, to send it to the customer. Does that make sense? What is the customer supposed to do with it? Thanks.

Question: #3: How do you like the automatic bill pay system?
I pay about 10-15 bills a month at various days of the month. Once in a while, the payment is delayed and once in a while the bill is misplaced or lost. So I am thinking of setting up automatic payment from my checking account.Do you have any experience with that? How do you like it? What are the pros and cons. I am afraid that some screw up or fraud could dry up my account.

Question: #16: Why do banks promote online bill pay so much?
Do banks make money somehow by having people pay their bills online? If anything I would think that banks have to pay money to mail the payments that don't post electronically and they would also lose revenue from checks. I've seen banks give free checking accounts and even prize drawings for the people who use bill pay. Whats the motivation???

Question: #30: Which bank has fast bill pay services?
I have two checking accounts currently. I am looking to get rid of one that has very fast bill pay services (most bills are paid next day). The other bank that I plan on keeping has much slower bill pay (three days on average). I am looking for a new bank with fast bill pay services. Any suggestions? Why a new account? Why are you getting rid of the account that already offers fast bill pay services? The bank I use that currently has bill pay has pissed me off (i.e., contributed to the economic mess). What bills are you paying with this service?Mortgage, utilities, student loan, that's about it.Can some of them just be paid online from the second account? They can be paid from the second account, but I hate waiting for the transactions to clear three days later (it's an obsessive-compulsive type thing!)
