Question : How do I verify when negative items drop my credit report?
I understand that negative items remain on your Credit Report for 7 years after the date of Original Delinquency, but how do I determine when this date incurs? Since the "Date of Last Activity" changes extending the date of deletion on your credit report, how can I determine when items should drop off?

Answer #2
When you look at your credit report, it willclearly mention a date of first delinquency ordate reported or something like that. 7 yearsstart from the date of first delinquency reportedby original creditor. Usually 90 days late andafter is considered as such.It is NOT 7 yearsAFTER you have paid the debt off. See the samplecredit report.
