Question : What is the best debt consolidation service?
I have a few credit card that are past due and I'm not able to make the payments. What is the best debt consolidation company to use?Keep in mind, I'm not a home owner.I'm not a student and actually I'm looking for a better answer than the obvious budget and make more money.

Answer #2 I am assuming from your answer that you can't dothis on your own because that's what I wouldrecommend first. Have you tried to contact thecredit card companies directly? Sometimes theywill reduce their interest rate or even consider apartial write-off if you can then make theadjusted payments. (they consider some paymentbetter than no payment!)If you must go the debtconsolidation route, I would only recommend one --CCCS, Consumer Credit Counseling Services. Thereshould be an affiliate in your area, just do asearch on CCCS and your town.city or state. Theyare the most reputable and have been around thelongest. There are lots of scam artists out therewho say they will consolidate your debts and thenjust end up taking a lot of your money and notgetting much to the creditors. CCCS does chargeyou and it should still be a last resort if youcan't do it on your own.Good luck! - answered by bob b
Answer #3 Stay away from any that charge a fee. Most if notall of these companies will trash your credit.Whatthey do is not pay your creditors for months andthen try and settle for less under the threat ofbankruptcy. No special skills. They just don'tpay.Your creditors do not have to deal with thesepeople because it is your debt. Also, If they don'tpay you creditors. You, and you alone are stillresponsible for the debt. Your creditors will sueyou and not the company you hire. - answered by heybulldog
