Question : can regular health insurance be used for health-related dental work?
I have not only very unhealthy teeth, but an undersized lower jaw. Both of which is causing quite a bit of health problems (from digestive difficulties to sleep apnia). With this being not merely dental, can my health insurance be used to fund some way of fixing this problem?

Answer #2 For a start get a bottle of HYDROGEN PEROXIDE andstart brushing and mouth washing daily with it. It kills pain and heals oral problems. Mydentist recommended this to me many years ago (Ihave mediocure teeth also) But the gums hold theteeth in, so when you get healthy gums your teethare enormously better. You need to see anOrthodontist for the undersized lower jaw.My sonhad the same problem and was in Orthodonture 6years to enlarge the bottom jaw. Of course yourage may determine whether this can be solved now. He was 10-16 during his braces. You might need acouple of teeth pulled to allow space. It might bewise to buy some dental insurance that includesorthodonture coverage. To prepare for gettingbraces. For digestive difficulties, have yourthyroid checked, this can cause swollowingproblems. Losing even 10 lbs. can correct yoursleep apnea problem. My Mother in Law had it forher life, after going on Sythroid for her Thyroid, she lost 17 lbs and her sleep apnea totally wentaway. She was 83 when it finally stopped. Thedoctor had increased her Sythroid for her Thyroidimbalance. For your stomach, drink a glass of Lemonwater (about 3 Tablespoons in a glass) daily. This will correct the acid balance in yourstomach. If you have been on any medication foranything it can throw your acid balance out ofwhack. Lemon juice sounds illogical, we startedusing it to improve our metabolism and it fixed my10 year old acid reflux problem.Good Luck, I hopesome of my suggestions help out.Medication is goodin some cases, but can cause other problems. - answered by MaryAnn
Answer #3 It depends on the type of treatment needed tocorrect the problem. If you require some oralsurgery under GA it may be covered under yourhealth insurance. You will need to discuss thiswith an oral surgeon who has hospital privileges. They are the most familiar with billing healthinsurance for dental treatment. - answered by Bored
