Question : Does a notarized Living Trust drafted from a software needed to be registered in a City Hall in California?
I used a CD from a book to make my living trust. After it was done, I went out to have it notarized by a Notary Public. Is this legal enough, or do I have to go to a Municipal Hall to have it registered? I live in the state of California

All Answers: Answer #1 No. City Halls do not record documents. CountyRecorders offices are the place public documentsare filed. You do not need to record a livingtrust. If the trust calls for real property to beput into the trust a deed from the settlor (that'sthe person who created the trust) to the trustmust be filed at the county recorders office alongwith a statement for the assessors office to showthat the beneficial owner is not changing. - answered by wartz
