Question : Are "at home real estate property locators' legitimate and scam free jobs?
I received a notice in email today that realtors in my area are looking for work at home real estate property locators. They say you can train live online, at your leisure, and can make really decent money locating property for real estate investors. What type of skills would one have to possess in order to be successful as a real estate property locator? Thank you for you time in answering my question.

What you are locating is homes not currently forsale and convincing the owner to sell via such andsuch real estate agent. I doubt you would makemuch money, if it were easy they would do itthemselves.

Answer #2
A property locator job isn't usually a legit jobbecause 75% of the realtors in your market areactually doing the same thing as a part of theirreal estate business and have more marketknowledge than you are likely to attain trainingonline. The necessary skills are a combination ofidentifying undervalued homes, knowing what arehab would cost, and being able to determine itslikely fair market value would be afterrebailitation. Every real estate investor islooking for the deal of the century so thecompetition is fierce. Sometime they want you toidentify and approach preforclosure propertieswhich can get sticky since the owners see you as avulcher. If you aren't afraid of hearing the wordno over and over again , you might not have aproblem with it.

Sorry - but I rather fear that you have to be verycautious as it is hardly likely. Unless you haveapplied through means other than email and aresure the email is 100% valid I wouldn't touch them- not with a barge pole and even then well I thinkI'd treat it as spam - it is not worth the risk...Check out the local paper and or employment agency if there are any similar jobs which are 0k thenthese are where to look assuming you are after ajob.
