Question : How to determine precentage to pay bill with boyfriend?
Someone said on here the easiest why they learned with was taking an equal precentage of the paychecks to put towards bills. How do I figure that out? Some weeks are different than others on pay and hours worked.

The easiest thing to do is to add up all yourjoint bills, divide it by two then divide it by 4and thats how much you each pay each week. Thenyou have to pay your individual bills out of yourown money.

split half on everything that is neccessary thatyou share, like rent because you both are livingthere, then water, electricity, telephone. if hewants to have direct tv mens channel then he paysfor that. your clothing you buy is paid by youonly. Well this should be a good idea.

For now, just go with your 2006 tax return (theone you filed in April 2007), unless yoursituation has changed a lot. If you've started ina new job, just make your best guess -- you andyour boyfriend have to agree on it, but this is apretty low-level sort of thing to have to sortout. If you make $500-600 per week and he makes$400-500, just call it 550 and 450 and pay 55% and45% of the joint bills.Keep a simple spreadsheeton your computer with your income for each monthand your jointly-paid bills from each month. Justopen it once a month and type in another row ofdata with ten or twelve numbers -- not hard atall. Then you'll know what your typically monthlyincome is and will better be able to estimate thepercentages each of you should pay (plus, you canuse it to track your expenses, which you shouldcare about just as much as you care about yourincome!).Good luck to you,Doug
