Answer #2 First, make sure your ee bonds are no longerearning interest. The original maturity date isoften 30 years, but extensions are made for up to10 more years, depending on when it was purchased.EE Bonds cannot be "turned over". You either holdthem or cash them. If you cash them, the gain issubject to federal tax.
