Get rid of all of your credit cards. Theyactually do nothing for you except rob you withabsorbatant interest rates. The fewer accounts youhave with your name on them and dollar valueattached, the better off you are. Also, move yourunused money out of savings and into certificates. The less they can get at in accounts that allowactivity, the less you lose. These are the minimummeasures that you should take to guard againstpeople adding to your liabilities and taking awayyour assets.Another minimum safeguard is to have800 numbers for all your accounts handy and towatch your accounts constantly. Many of them youcan watch from on line at least once or twice perweek, including your bankcards.

The first thing you can do is contact the socialsecurity office and put them on alert.Seriously! The second is to give your financialinstitutions a heads up, and begin keeping recordof all of your daily transactions and crossreference them with an online, telephone, or inperson bank statement.I heard that signing yourname on checks should be done as initials or in avery unique way, so that your bank can easilydetermine the difference in endorsements. Also notusing your home address on your checks is said tohelp. Use a PO Box or work address instead. You canalso call the credit beauru and give them a headsup too. That way if anyone does successfully makea large purchase and destroy your credit. Thecredit folks will be on the same page you are.
