Question : Can anyone suggest a good credit repair agency?
I need to repair my credit but honestly do not have the time to do this myself. Has anyone ever used an agency that acutally worked and if so how long did it take?

There is no such thing as "credit repair." Yourcredit report should reflect accurate information. You can pull your credit report from the 3 majorreporting services once per year without charge. Visit annualcreditreport.com.Read each item listedcarefully. If there are any inaccuracies, worktowards having them corrected. If the creditorrefuses to correct something, challenge the creditreporting service to prove the information on thereport. They must then send that company aninquiry requesting proof of the informationreported. If they do not respond, or cannot provethe information, they must remove it.If you haveaccurate information reported, and thatinformation is bad, there is no way to legallyremove that bad information. You may be able toincrease your credit score by paying off the baddebts, thus changing the report from "does notpay" to "paid or settled."Do not waste money onsomeone that claims that they can "repair" yourcredit. The only credit they repair is the amountof money you give them going into their bankaccount.Do try to have bad information removedfrom your report through deceit. Do not bend orstretch the truth in an attempt make you lookbetter. In most cases, if you have a reason forwhy your payments were late, or you had to quitpaying, you may add a statement to your creditreport explaining the reason. For instance, "Ibecame ill in 2001 and had to stop working. Ittook me two years before Social Security beganpaying disability. I am trying to work with mycreditors to resolve any outstanding balances nowthat I have a small monthly income again. Pleasebe patient, as I plan to make good on my debts, but it will take time."There is honesty, anexplanation, and a willingness to repay what youowe. If your report shows that you are working oncreditors, one-by-one, your statement goes a longway towards improving the overall picture of yourcredit worthiness.Good luck! Will DEnterprise,AL

I've been where you are and it's no fun. Creditcan be repaired and it doesn't really take muchwork. The first thing you need to do is get arecent copy of your credit report. You can get afree credit report and credit score at
http://smart-money-help.com/free-credit-report . Even if you have seen your credit report you needto request a new one. Things get added to thereport all the time and some of them might not beaccurate. Getting rid of the errors andchallenging everything is the next step in fixingthings. Also, you don't need to pay someone tofix your credit report. There is nothing someoneelse can do that you can't do yourself. That samewebsite also offers a free credit repair kit. Thefree kit and the free credit report are all youneed to start getting your credit repaired. Youcan get the free credit repair kit at
