Question : Is there a legit company out there than can repair credit?
I have heard about credit repair companies that can get negatives off your credit report but have heard that there are alot of frauds out there too. So has anyone actually tried one that works?

there are ZERO companies that can just magicallyrepair your credit, however you can join a debtmanagement organization who can help you MANAGEyour credit which in turn improves over time. Ipersonally use american debt management, I was 6months deliquent on 2 credit cards, this was 6years ago now I have very good credit since i wasable to make all my payments.

No there arent any that can do it. What you needto do is clean it up yourself.Start by paying alittle more than the min amout due on a card.Paythem on time.Bad marks go away after 7 years butcrditors usually allow 4 years if you clean it upenough.

Answer #3
You can do it yourself if you want to spend thetime to do it. Those companies cannot do anythingyou can't do yourself. But once you clear yourcredit, you may be left with no credit, which isjust as bad as no credit. If they are chargingyou $100 or less, make sure they are offering aguarentee and in what time frame they will clearit. A lot of those companies are lazy and willjust request a tax id number for you , replacingyour social security number and you'll be leftwith no credit.

Be extremely careful if you decide to use a creditrepair company. Many times a person will find thatthey are in worse shape than before they hiredthat company.Thoroughly check a company out beforeyou hire them!!!!!!As others have posted, you cando it yourself. Which is usually the best way togo. There are many free credit repair sites on theweb. Never pay a site for information. The siteI've listed is one of the best I've been to. Iwould suggest that you do some reading in thenewbie forum and the credit forum before youdecide to use a credit repair company.

I have been doing credit repair for over ten yearsand have never received a dime for it. I haveconsidered researching credit repair companies byusing myself as a guinea pig, but at what cost? There is an excellent self help book out therecalled "Guaranteed Credit" by Arnold S. Goldstein. It costs about twenty bucks and can be reviewedbefore purchase. Is there a legit company? Onecompany who looked very good to me contradictedmethods which I have found to be effective. I havethought about selling my services but the truth isall I can provide is administrative support suchas letter writing and personal advise. How much isthat worth ? You still have some work to do onyour own.
